They’re Only Whispers…
The Whispers of Failure expansion features more than 15 new Kaiju (with new strategies and abilities), well over 130 new cards (including over 12 new Kilojoules) and now features Kaijin!
Hey all, Zach here—creator of Kaiju Ketsugo!—with some good news! It’s a long one so buckle up!
The Whispers of Failure expansion is nearly upon us and rewards will soon be sent out to all Kickstarter backers and new product available for purchase. As I type this, our manufacturer is working hard on the cards and packaging, while playmats, posters, t-shirts and more are already shipped or have arrived to us. It’s getting real. I figured I’d take a moment to elaborate on what Whispers of Failure has to offer! Once again, thank you for your support in making it happen. Let’s check it out!
There are 2 Constructed Decks (so far) in the WoF expansion—Face the Music and Forge Ahead.
Both decks come with
a 60-card game ready deck (including 7 Joules)
3 12-card joule boosters (booster packs)
and an insert that triples as a deck strategy guide, a playmat and a how to play guide
But there’s a lot more than meets the eye, because riddles abound. Cards and even the boxes they’re in hide their secrets.
The Deck List & Strategy Guide
Tailored to each deck, they will help you jump in the ring right away while you’re still figuring out some of the deck’s intricacies.
The Playmat & How to Play Guide
This has game set up instructions, spaces for card placement as well as instructions on how to play, that can be used throughout the game.
12-card Joule Boosters
The Joule Boosters that come with decks are unique to the deck they came from. Each deck’s booster has its own unique card pool with 4 rares and 3 ultra-rares exclusive to that set!
Each booster also holds a piece of a riddle that will come into play later. Collect all 3 boosters from Whispers of Failure to solve it!

With a pool of over 160 cards, the Whispers of Failure Booster Bundle is by far the best way to get a variety of new Kaiju for deck building. In this bundle, you’ll have a chance at 8 rare, 4 ultra-rare and 3 brand new gold-limited cards. That’s right, we’re turning things up a notch from now on! (but only because you voted for us to) So in the Whispers of Failure set, there are over 20 rare cards!
T-shirts and other apparel will also come with the WoF release. And this is just the beginning, because as soon as Whispers of Failure officially releases, we’ll begin funding an “ENCORE” deck. What is that, you ask?
Upon each expansion’s release from here on out, another deck option, called an Encore, featuring brand new cards and strategies that further supplement and combat against the expansion’s strategies will begin to fund. On KaijuKetsugo.com’s homepage, there will be a bar measuring our progress towards funding the Encore decks, so you’ll know just how close they are to coming to pass. I’ll start working on the cards and graphics right away!
